Our consultants are experts in social and welfare developments and know the needs on both local and national scale. We implement this into public real estate and infrastructural projects. By advising and consulting other parties in the project approach, and accompanying local processes we create a healthy and livable environment for every citizen of Eindhoven. We are active on two major fields: Accessibility and livability This proposal contains our ideas on livability and creating social sustainability. Note: Our other proposal contains our view on accessibility. ===== Opportunities for collaboration===== By working on this project we can make all partners aware of all necessary aspects (social, functional and economical). By adding social sustainability into project approaches, the result will be that it fits the long term needs of the community and therefore gets its durable support. We show that even social aspects can gain return on investment. ===== Description of idea===== <WRAP box right minwidth:33%> <userpoll Rating> + ****** + **** + ** </userpoll> <WRAP centeralign> Please rate this idea! \\ Click on **Vote and view** to see the results. </WRAP> </WRAP> Zet improves the quality of real estate by adding social sustainability. This means the final result is not only sustainable in the common sense (green, durable), but also sustainable in the meaning of: suitable for all citizens, now and in the future. This proposal contains our ideas on livability and creating social sustainability. The buildings of the preliminary scope are not only owned by the local government of the city of Eindhoven. They are also ‘owned’ by the people of Eindhoven. In particular the local residents nearby. One can love the building, one can dislike it. One can be involved, one can be disinterested. But anybody has an emotion with it. Especially when using public money it can be very important to have public support. This will not only prevent counteraction or resistance, but more important it can increase the local involvement of citizens. Sustainable buildings are about to last for a long time. They have to fit in todays society as well as tomorrows. Therefore it is necessary to look at or reconsider the functionality of the building and even know the local wishes and needs. Zet uses social networks and creates social alliances to get to know ánd make use of local energy, ideas and emotions citizens. When dragging them into developments and make them part of it, one can not only determine what people want to see (the stones) but much more important what kind of functions (the program) they want to get. By creating a place that is supported, liked or even loved, it becomes a gathering spot for the neighborhood. A place that is durably linked to the citizens of Eindhoven. This not only applies to a building, but also to the organization inside the building. A visible and accessible organization is a credible organization. By lowering the doorstep (physical as well as social) local authorities and citizens can reach much more together. - Note: Accessibility is one of the boundary conditions. See our other proposal. - When redefining a city hall or even a office building, there are many option to facilitate meeting between citizens, local entrepreneurs, local health- and welfare organizations and officials. This contributes to the governance transition. Citizens who feel connected to the city of Eindhoven, will be likely to give back their energy and support. Organizing local involvement of citizens (and local entrepreneurs) within this development can give a great return on investment in other developments. ^ Illustrating file|{{public:outline_proposals:subdata:proposals:illustrations:338-q24-portfolio_zet.pdf?400&direct|Portfolio Zet.pdf}}| ^ Type of idea|service| ^ Category of idea|work flow| ^ Enabling conditions|It is important to create involvement in an early stage of the developments. Therefore it is needed to get to know all local parties and organizations, to determine who is to be consulted or involved in what stage. Full corporation of the local authorities is a must.| ===== Stage of development===== Proven innovation: it has been used in practice on a small scale. ===== Substantiation stage of development===== Within several village or district development processes Zet was concerned with the local involvement of citizens. This led to many citizens' initiatives, cooperation between local parties or local developments such as multifunctional facilities (community centers, community schools). The influence and involvement of the local community ensured durable support. References are available on request. ===== Provability contribution to sustainability===== Underpinned contribution to sustainability; this can be shown on the basis of experiments or calculations. ===== Step in the right direction===== When involving citizens the local government will be much more open to citizens. This coincides with governance transitions and contributes to a more visible, accessible and credible organization. ===== Flexible idea===== The basic principles of creating support and involvement are the same, but boundary conditions differ in every case. Zet adapts the approach according to local situations and organizations. There is no environmental effect. ===== Good investment===== Involving citizens in this kind of processes may take a little time and effort in the early stage. However, the probability of broad support will gain time and maybe even money in the further stages. Especially when the use of public money is involved it’s important to have public support. It prevents unnecessary hassle or even resistance. Citizens who feel connected to the city of Eindhoven, will be likely to give back their energy and support. Organizing local involvement of citizens (and local entrepreneurs) can give a great return on investment in this and other developments ===== Comments===== This proposal contains our ideas on livability and social sustainability. Our other proposal contains our view on accessibility. Both proposals can be combined and integrated to make a concept with a durable connection with Eindhoven and its citizens. {{tag>public:outline_proposals:subdata:tags:all "public:outline_proposals:subdata:tags:contributions sustainable Eindhoven":"sustainable city" "public:outline_proposals:subdata:tags:contributions sustainable Eindhoven":"attractive surroundings" "public:outline_proposals:subdata:tags:contributions sustainable Eindhoven":"visible innovation" "public:outline_proposals:subdata:tags:three principles":"quality in the long term" "public:outline_proposals:subdata:tags:three principles":"system approach" "public:outline_proposals:subdata:tags:three principles":"cooperation" "public:outline_proposals:subdata:tags:stage of development":"proven innovation" "public:outline_proposals:subdata:tags:contribution to sustainability":"underpinned contribution"}}
